I wasn't planning on going to the beach...but hey, I did! :) Hey guys! So I'm going to try and summarize this week since it was a pretty crazy one. We were able to look around the island of Oahu and do a lot of neat things there. We first went to the Sea Life Park and saw a dolphin show there. Then, we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a luau and saw the incredible show about all the different cultures of the Islands. Some other things we got to do were have shaved ice at Matsumoto's, go to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, a macadamian nut store, and see a few beaches. we had a really really good time, and I have fallen in love with Hawaii. I want to go back soon! It's funny because even when it was like 70 degrees, people who lived there were saying it was cold haha. I loved it.
After we left Hawaii, we went to Orlando for the premiere of the American Idol Experience at Disney World. It felt like a family reunion with so many past idol contestants. All 7 winners were there, and Melinda, Phil, Lakisha, Sanjaya, Brooke, and a bunch of other people were there too haha.
My older sister came down for the event, and my cousins were already in that area because it was my grandma's birthday that same day. So they got to come too! It was a reunion with the American Idol family, and my real family. the American Idol Experience was so cool too! It was freakishly similar to the real stage, and I think it's way cool how people can get a chance to see what it's like to be in our shoes up on stage performing or watching the show live. We got to ride the rides after doing press. Man so much to talk about! But I don't want to make this a novel lol.
The final thing I'm going to talk about is my first time going to New Orleans. I was there to be in the Caesar Parade on Valentine's Day, and that was way cool. I got to throw tons and tons of beads to people. The night I got there, I was able to eat dinner with Gavin Degraw and Tony Orlando, who are like 2 of the coolest and nicest people you could ever know. We ate at a restaurant called Impastato's, and oh my heck! It was AMAZING! It was so good we went to eat there the next day lol. But Tony and Gavin were to performing in New Orleans too. Tony already performed that night, but Gavin was performing the next day so we went to see him perform. He was great. After him though.... I had a big surprise lol. We didn't know that Sara Bareilles was going to be on after him!! I couldn't believe that I was going to see Sara Bareilles without even planning on it or knowing she was there! Haha it was so cool! She's sooo good live too. I got a chance to talk to her and she was talking about how nice my fans were. So thanks to all of you guys!! I thought that was so cool of her to mention that, and how we could both agree on that. But anyway, I was really happy haha. The parade was right after that, and it was neat because we had police escorts to take us where we needed to go. When we got to the float is was crazy how many people were asking for autographs lol. I wasn't expecting so many of them. But yeah, the parade started and it began to rain. I like the rain though so I didn't mind too much. I was just hoping I didn't get sick haha. It was way fun though!
Well I tried my best to keep this short, so I hope it wasn't too long. Check out my new pictures to see my Hawaii experience and go to my website, www.davidarchuleta.com to see the Idol and New Orleans pics!
I'm going to be rehearsing as much as I can with the band while we have time, especially since tour is starting really soon! I'm so excited for that. But I better head out now to get the day
rolling. I'll talk to you guys later! Oh and let me know if any of you go to the American Idol Experience! I want to know what you think of it! Another thing I'd like to know is if any of you did cool things for Valentine's Day too. Hope everyone had a good one!

TOfan - you rock! Thanks
ReplyDeleteMarlie - love the banner; that is one of my favorite pix
I thought it represented David in his most sophisticated incarnation :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, marlie - the future, now
ReplyDeleteLove the banner pix, good choice! Love that David sounds so happy in his blog!
ReplyDeletedfLIZ - he sounds like he is having a blast; a world traveler!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I put your directions for Google permission in the side bar for a couple of days. Thanks
kizzi - how cool is that! So many fun things to play with :-)
ReplyDeleteI know Marlie - it is amazing, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteHi Kizzi,
ReplyDeleteHow do you get to be a contributor?
joymus - send me your email to kizzix2008@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteTOfan, you're killing me here...but its a good dead!
ReplyDeletehahaha, sorry, Kizzi, pics are easier in wordPress, I'm a blogspot spazzzz, lol
ReplyDeleteAww, poor David STILL doesn't wear shorts! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible to go to the seaside and NOT wear shorts? Come on David! It's no wonder he went to Hawaii and still looked pale in his pics - LOL!
ReplyDeleteTOfan - I meant with this great post and pix.
ReplyDeleteWe can discuss switching to wordpress or a better blogware - I just used this so we could talk and exchange info - nothing is written in stone. It is the groups decision what blogware to use.
Everything can be moved if we don't like this blog site. All is still open, I would think.
ReplyDeleteDavid sweetie, just roll the pant legs up a bit. It won't hurt.
ReplyDeleteBrooklyndawn - haha - I remember his funny grin when he did Guitar Hero in shorts! He has true grit to do that if he is a little too not into shorts.
ReplyDeleteAm I here yet??
ReplyDeleteoh I am!..good!! hopefully I can find my way back later..nice work ladies...
ReplyDeleteI was just at Mj's and there is a post about David's latest blog. Lisa (soundscene) posted that FOD reported that Sara Bareilles asked David to join her on stage, but that he was not contractually allowed to sing, so he declined! This is certainly something we need to chat about. Imagine how good this could have been. Thousands of fans would have inundated youtube for video of this performance. I get not doing freebees, but in this case it would have paid off in serious dividends!
ReplyDeleteSo many activities in one week. But no "Mcfly" on this blog, probably next time.
ReplyDeleteby the way, Mcfly is visiting Sydney and will have a concert on 27th Feb. Wish that David's front act would have started here. Wishingful thinking.
Now there is a dream concert pairing: David and Sara!!! Two of the sweetest people on earth! And we wouldn't have to put up with any nekkid guys haha!
ReplyDeleteSorry did not greet everyone. Just so excited about the blog from DA.
ReplyDeleteI was about to say "Good Morning everyone" because it is just 8:29 am here on Sydney. But because it is afternoon there, so I will just say," Good Day to everyone in Archuland, does not matter if you are US, Canada, Asia....in any part of the world"
Hi Tofan , thanks for the warm welcome from previous post.
Brooklyndawn, he might have rolled up his pants a little after he slipped into his flip flops... kind of like what he did when he was kissing the dolphin. :)
ReplyDeleteHi All! David and Sara together would have been WIN-WIN. I'm really scratching my head on that one. Sometimes this music industry drives me nuts!
ReplyDeleteHi, Joner! See you made it over here, too!
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteForgot to welcome you to this site. I'm familiar with your posts on Snarky's+ FOD - WELCOME!
The site looks great! Thanks to everyone who has been working on it. I have to write two exams, but I'll see you all at 9 a.m.
ReplyDeleteSaw the band info on FOD. Reading between the lines, I think that two of them with jazz backgrounds may be friend's/acquaintances of Jeff's and also Mormons. The other guy is from NYC and Mike is the guitarist.
whoops---9 p.m. I meant!
ReplyDeleteVee, I lived in WA for two years. Michael Johns (also from David's year on Idol) is also from Perth. Is American Idol shown on subscription television or network television in Australia?
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Love the banner! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, David,luv..what is it with your aversion to showing a little leg! Geesh! It's not like we haven't already seen them!
Kizzi, can't tell you how impressed I am with what you've done here..it's beautiful!
SF - Marlie & TOfan have done most of it! They are awesome blogmasters!
ReplyDeleteOK then, Kizzi, Marlie & TOfan..Beautiful Job!
ReplyDeleteNow if only I can figure out what the heck I'm doing? haha..I got lost on an earlier thread!
Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a real smile! Sara looks happy, too.
Just wanted to say this temporary blog looks good with David's photo at the top and these fine shades of blue and green. Great job!
Thanks for posting all the news. The videos on the right side menu are pretty cool, too.
Some much to look forward to in the coming week. Can't wait for the tour videos to start popping.
Oops! I guess you know whih photo I'm talking about. Ha ha! I'm just a little too not familiar with this blog yet!
